Work is either fun or drudgery. It depends on your attitude. I like fun. -Colleen Barrett

O hai, new job role!

March 15, 2010

O hai there! It’s been a while!

Today is my first day in my new team. Aha! This day is kinda boring because first days are always boring, but I feel excited though. I am currently watching a video training on one of the applications that my team is supporting. I hope to get the hang of this really soon.

I don’t know yet who will onboard me, how it will go, what is the timeline and all that stuff, you know what  I’m talking about right? Haha. Tomorrow I’m going to have my first 1:1 with my new sub-team lead. I know things would be better from here on because it’s gonna be a new leadership. I am just too happy that I am now free from my ex-sub-team-lead who never failed to make my stay from my ex-team a living hell.

Oh well, the last statement might be an exaggeration. But anyway, I just don’t know how to express how I feel right now. It’s like I miss my old team and it’s like a freaking separation anxiety, and I feel excited and kinda happy, idk.

So there. It seems I can have more time for initiatives, for trainings, certifications and other endeavors I want to pursuit. Yea.

So wish me goodluck. =)

Monday NALA November 9

I was able to address one request that is to enable iToolbox for Asia. It has been a pending request since I went week-long sick leave because I’m the person who is more familiar with the particular request. The SO for GBP was really glad about it he gave me a really big smiley face in email. It is not really usual for him to do that so it really means that he appreciated my action.

Aside from that, I handled a few tickets that are pending for a long time in our queue.

Yes. I’m on a roll. I’m excited for Tuesday NALA.

Start of Fiscal Year 2010

November 9, 2009

Yay! It’s November! It’s the start of the fiscal year for our company. Time to shine again.

Me wants to make a new start, create possibilities and opportunities for myself, explore my strengths and empower the people around me, I want to inspire too. Also, there are really a lot of things I wanna try but I will write them down soon because I am just taking a 5minute break to write this.

Also, first week of November wasn’t cooperative: I was sick and confined for four straight days. =( I know that’s really sad, but no worries, I’m OK now. =)

So two weeks ago I’ve decided to work at SMPC (our office in Ortigas) on November 9, 11, 12 (Mon, Wed, Thurs). I texted my leads earlier about it. And then here goes my immediate lead, talking to me about not telling them about it etc etc. Thing is, he’s not really glad about it. And that is quite understandable because he’s never fond of people having their own hold on their freedom.

But anyhoo, those kind of stuff should be pushed back in my head. There’s a lot of things to attend to at this moment, and they are far more important.

Aja!
